History
Being released in December 1984, 1942 was one of Capcoms first major hits, and the first Capcom-game to get a sequel. Because of the success this game had, Capcom would later go on to make several games in the same series. In the game you steer a plane during World War II, and your goal is to reach Tokyo and destroy the Japanese air fleet. (As Capcom is a Japanese game company, the plot in the game can be said to be a little ironic.
Capcom designed its own arcade board for this game, and the board is only used for the four versions of this game.
