A new version ALREADY?

So within a day or two the next release will be out. I will talk about what this next release will contain and post a few screenshots.

The biggest changes are emulation improvements! Yes RetroCopy is an emulator so I thought why not throw in a few emulator updates? Give the people a bone!

The sound in next version is much improved over last one, I have added a better filtering algorithm for Genesis/MegaDrive and YM2413 (used on SMS) so they sound much better. But I went one step further and added low pass and high pass filtering for all systems. By default bass is boosted a little bit which makes every game sound that much better (by my ears) :) I must have fixed over 100 bugs in the Genesis core, so expect some big improvements to it!

I've also added a few more options to specific systems, automatic save states so you can now enjoy those long games... and a few other things. Yes it's only been 10 days or so since last release but I'm sure everyone wants something new already. :)

All of the MegaDrive / Genesis games shown below had issues in previous builds.

Tommy has some work planned out work for me in the next version relating to .GAME, a *secret* never-done-before-feature will be put in, and any bugs people find I guess. I'm holding off on new systems (except maybe the SG1000 which is foregone conclusion as it already works) until some fun stuff has been put in.

A secret you say....... Inflatable virtual llamas?

Seriously though, is the Megadrive cycle accurate yet?

No it's not completely cycle accurate yet. Writing a cycle accurate 68K would take at least a few weeks and I'd rather spend that time doing other things at the moment.

Ah OK, thanks for the clarification, but the real question is: Is the llama thing going ahead?

A llama user ranking system maybe... :P

Actually I'm still unsure what the key feature will be of the next version, I keep changing my mind. There are about 4-5 key things I want done over the next few months so I have a few choices. It will be fun though whatever it is.

From .720 onwards the emulators (SMS/NES/GG/MD) are in a pretty good state in comparison to anything else you can use so my job on that front is done for the time being, allowing me to concentrate on the more unusual stuff I've been planning for a while now.
