Easter is almost upon us, the magical time when Jesus died on the cross to save us from our sins such as gluttony and emulation. Will there be a Retro Egg Hunt this easter?
One advantage of having your own GUI is you can make things exactly how you want! The downside is if you're a perfectionist it leads you to ponder things for hours - "Hmm does this button really belong here?". Sometimes hours seem to fly by when you're playing with a GUI. This last week I've been working on improving the ROM BROWSER, finishing up some of the things that were planned for a while now.

Firstly I've changed the look a little in regards to the list, this more clearly shows the difference between GROUPs and stuff you can actually run. Previously clicking on the first item in a list expanded the other games under it, but the first item itself was also playable. I have changed that now to more represent a folder type situation when in GROUP mode. Now you click on a group and it shows all the covers for every game under it. If you select any subitem it will show only the relevant covers for that.
In the screenshot above you can see two covers loaded, previously if you clicked on this game it would come up with only the Ghost House one. So now when you click on the first item of a group it shows you all the covers for the game and also groups together all the flags. Another change is group names, you can now set a preference for the group name by country. If you're Brazilian and prefer those names in the list you can change it, same goes with Jap, USA, European and Korean. The screenshot shows the group name as Chapolim x Dracula as I've selected Brazilian names, in v720 it would have been Ghost House.
Work is going to begin on the other systems databases soon which will bring all this goodness to them also. If you want to put your hand up for doing some database work then go ahead, the more hands on it the quicker it will happen.
