I have now moved fairly far in getting System 1 and 2 fully supported in RetroCopy and I will show some of the progress here.

Having to add so many ROMs for the 70 or so Sega System 1+2 games that exist has made me realize the GAME ROM editor needs a little work when it comes to arcade games (I can hear Tommy cheering). I've been rejigging the arcade support in RetroCopy now that there are a lot of games supported.

One thing MAME does that I like is rather easy DIP switch editing. So I implemented my own similar system for setting the options for these arcade games. I'll also be updating SEGA SYSTEM E with them. You can see in the image the new panel that shows for arcade games, you simply double click to change them.

Some may not know that these "DIP switch options" existed for these arcade games. It was basically a way for the owner of the system to set specific things, like how many coins they wanted for a credit, the difficulty of the game, etc.

You usually had to open the cabinet to manipulate the switches. So if you were the greedy corner shop owner and wanted to rake in the money from the local kids you would set it so that they would need 3 coins for a credit and crank up the difficulty level so they would die often...... ah arcade games had a hold on the market there for a while with the returns they offered.

And on to the System 1+2 progress.

First up is Wonder Boy in Monster Land, easily the best game for this system.

This is Teddy Boy Blues

And My Hero. Which strangely enough is worse than the SMS port.
