Just around the corner

So the new version is just around the corner. And to celebrate the near 1100 members we have now I'm going to be giving it to RetroCopy members first.

Besides the new arcade systems added there are quite a few changes in RetroCopy v0.800. One of the more obscure features added is the ability to fix your current GAME set. As most here would know RetroCopy uses the new .GAME ROM format which is designed to be efficient when it comes to your hard drive space whilst also allowing complete and proper emulation of any game. With each new version of RetroCopy changes are often made to the .GAME files, so to stay up to date with these changes (which improve emulation, fix bugs, etc) you simply press the "Update" or "Fix" button in RetroCopy and your whole set is taken care of. RetroCopy will still work with the "old" .GAME files, but it is recommended for any new version you update your particular sets.

This is the .GAME editor we use to make the databases.

I've been working on changes to the editor we use to manufacture the .GAME databases, GameGear support is now properly added which will mean all the Game Gear games will soon be on the GAMES page allowing ranking and game linking for them. I also made the editor a lot more complete, to allow drag drop of files, and make it easier to add arcade games. Most of these changes are irrelevant for the end users but I thought it might interest some of the more technical minded users.
