The next release is almost ready. With every major release I want to do a video showcasing the new features so I spent a few hours tonight getting it ready.

The BETA itself is pretty much ready, there are just a few NES emulation things I need to fix up before release. The DPCM audio channel is a little messed up resulting in a tiny little hiss noise after it is used. I spent most of today working on RetroCopy like last Saturday, mostly tying up the interface to the new features. Takes quite a while to debug and get that to a nice level.

Anyhow the video is ready for tomorrow's release, so check it out.

Nice to see my logo there, also the arcades with the logo looked pretty cool I think, however, about the dinamic lighting...too small for me I think, I cant even see the colours in the wall haha, but nice job, Also the rack with the tvs is pretty cool, looks fine...I think you should just add a rom with 1 tv and 1 arcade, and after that, just make the room look cool, no one is gonna use the four tvs at the same time after all...just suggestions. Keep the good job.

Yeah the lighting could be improved a little bit. I wasn't going to delay another week and add shadowing which is what is needed to fix it properly. A lot of these features I added are features of the latest video games and take a fair amount of effort to get working nicely. :)

I'm going to be leaving the 3D side for a little bit and concentrate on some really cool things I want to get in there and improvements to covers and the .GAME format. I really need to get some passionate "moderators" for the .GAME format and the games it covers. It's quite a bit of work to get the .GAME format where I want it to be, which is to be a good replacement format others can use in their emulators if they want to.

I've just downloaded v0.300 now, and must say I'm really impressed. The TVs and arcade machines are so cool! I just hope that arcade games will be a part of Retro Copy one day, so that the arcade machines can be used for that they're supposed to :) I also have a few other notes (in addition to what I've written before):

1) When locked to a screen, "Load game", "Exit game" and "Exit gameroom" don't work, although the buttons are still visible. It should be possible to do these things even though we are in "play mode".

2) Is it really necessary to have two modes? First: I think it would be easier if all the moving around in the room could be done with just the mouse. Moving left (A) could be done by using the left mouse button, moving right (D) with the right mouse button, and forward (W) and backward (S) with using the mouse scroll (similar to zooming). And instead of having to press F1 to go to "play mode", I suggest giving the different screens a number. By pressing "1" on the keyboard, the player controls the console connected to TV #1. By using the mouse one would still be able to move around in the room, while at the same time using the keyboard (or gamepad) to play on the selected TV. Of course, then one would not be able to use the blue buttons ("Load game" etc.) anymore, but that can be done by using the keyboard instead.

3) I'm sure you're aware that fast forwarding doesn't work now, but FM sound is also really bad in this version.

BTW: It's quite fun to play a game from inside a TV! :) A new challenge in a mirror universe! (Although one should perhaps not be able to walk through the objects in the room)

And also BTW: It should be September, not August, in the headline for this post :)

Im also really impressed, its good that you are doing things that no one else is in the emulation world. I hope you can keep it going because the emu world has been a bit stale recently and anything new like this certainly makes life more interesting.

Tommy it says September in the title here or did ralph fix it already?

Thanks for the support guys, it's really appreciated. And yes I changed it, shows how busy I've been putting August instead of September... :)
