So I'm _still_ working on the new GAME database editor. Is it because I have been lazy? No. It's simply one of those projects which grows and turns into something you had no idea of at the start.
Thankfully it is nearing completion, by tomorrow or later tonight I will be starting to implement the new format back into RetroCopy. But there is still more work to be done in RetroCopy because it will be man handling ROMs now instead of the old GAMEConvert.exe. Upon loadup it will scan the ROM directories for filenames and as it does will see if you have any .NES or .SMS and just convert them out of the kindness of its heart. This will mean you will have to delete all the existing GAME files and put your originals back in there, but don't worry it isn't that painful a process.
I have nearly given up on this new GAME format about.... 5 times or so over the last 2 weeks. It is THAT frustrating. The people I speak to about this are like "Ralph come on, dust yourself off it's just a ROM format it's easy". And that was my perception starting this project, but then you start having to deal with all the little niggly issues it just adds up to this World Trade Center type project, I'm just waiting for the planes to destroy it now, or was it the fire? Who knows.
Anyhow I have updated parts of the website as a "break" of working on this awful new GAME format, some may have noticed it.

The NES page still needs a bit more work but I will get to it after the next release. The SMS page has some technical information you may not find elsewhere along with my possibly amateur comments. The next release should be about a week away unless I really get in the zone in which case it will be sooner. Oh yes I almost forgot my dog had puppies, talk about stress.
