AVI Video Game Recording

Do you like recording your games to AVI format? MPEG? What about MP4? Well it's all possible now with RetroCopy. I'm moving house soon and decided to do a smaller release of RetroCopy before the major v1.0 release, mostly because moving house is annoying and takes unknown amounts of time.

So you can now encode your gameplay into pretty much whatever format you want, using whatever codecs you want. Of course since there are only a few "great" codecs I've decided to limit the RetroCopy GUI to only selecting the best ones (namely MPEG4, H264, H264 lossless, HUFFY) so that people aren't confused by the myriad of options available. You also don't need to install anything over than RetroCopy, it's all included, no registry mess!

What RetroCopy can do that other software can't is very tightly synced audio to gameplay, full framerate (60fps or 50fps, no missed frames) and no skipping audio. Since RetroCopy can also play videos, it means you can even re-encode your videos to a different format, or a different resolution, with up sampling, etc. In a way it makes RetroCopy a kind of a media player utility, even though I never meant it to be! Ah you have to love modern code. ;)

The other thing to mention is we are now over 2000 members! We could be a small town with these numbers. RetroTown or something. And since RetroTown has no sales tax, I'm sure Amazon will setup a distribution center here.
