Stocking up on potassium iodide

Why do I forever seem stuck in feature adding mode whenever I want to do a release! It gets addictive I think. After adding SG-1000 / SC-3000 cores I wanted to handle the GUI a little better. Here is a little WIP of what I'm working on.

Basically I've made it easier to select input, and more clearly show which player is which. Not only that, but with a double click you can now configure the devices from the game list. I'm doing away with the tab that brought up system settings and made everything visual and right-click accessible instead. It basically makes it easier to use.

I also want the input to be changeable during a game, pretty much like a real system would also. This way you don't necessarily need to leave a game if you haven't configured a device the way you like it. Once this is done I'll be releasing it, as v0.960 and it will be a very nice mid step before the massive v1.0 release that I've wanted to work on for many months now but all these small things keep coming up.

My best wishes go out to Japan in their time of need, home of many of our favourite consoles!

Great Ralf, I can't wait :-)
What will be the most important features of this release?

New functionalities?

Hello RetroRalph. I have a question:

In a facebook message you wrote:
Work is done on Adding Being Mega Drive / Genesis covers to the media library!

Are you saying that you have done all the covers of all the megadrive games and they are already uploaded to Retrocopy´s site?

As I am the one who writes the Facebook messages I can answer this: No, they are not yet added to the site. But work is being done on this. Hopefully it won't be too long before covers are added to the site and media library/torrent.

Lots of fixes and improvements in the next version. Too many to list here at the moment, it's a major update. Here are some of the emulation improvements.

[SMS VDP] Added TMS9918 gfx mode 1. Fixes Super Boy 2
[SMS VDP] Changed TMS9918 palette to be a bit more accurate
[SMS VDP] Fixed how the graphics modes were selected
[SMS VDP] Fixed issue with vcounts in non 192 line modes (fixes GG Turrican)
[SMS VDP] Fixed no vscroll in last 8 column bug (fixes Fray Shugyou)
[SMS VDP] Fixed small bug that wouldn't reset CRAM to 0 in all cases
[GAME GEAR] Fixed a few issues with gear-to-gear cable link emulation. All games should work now
[GAME GEAR] Implemented SMS Mode for the few titles which use it on Game Gear. With an emulated LCD scale effect similar to real system
[GAME GEAR] Moved cartridge system over to SMS one, fixes a few games
[GAME GEAR] Fixed an issue in the mapper dealing with SRAM over 16KB and less than 32KB. (Fixes Shining Force 2 and Moldorian)
[Z80] Improved handling of NMI
[CORE] Implemented 16bit memory map system that can be used by any core. Has some tight low level code for speed. Makes Z80 about ~5% faster

any plans for the Colecovision, Coleco Adam Computer, MSX, MSX2, MSX2+, and MSX TurboR, etc ?

they're all virtually the same hardware as the SG1000/SC3000/Mark III in many ways.

also check out this list

http://system16.com/museum.php?id=1

you could emulate everything from Appoooh to System 18 (the bottom of the first column)

They are all Z80 or M680000 chip games, I'm sure you could have it knocked out in a week or two by checking out the mame code.

Then you'd have most Z80 and M68000 home game consoles emulated. woot.
