OpenGL in VMWare. Emulator in an emulator

So the release is getting close and there have been a few bug reports from people on old video cards about crashes. So I fired up VMWare and also got crashes.

In case most of you don't know, VMWare is an emulator which emulates the PC. RetroCopy emulates older systems. :) But anyhow I fixed the crash bugs, it was related to not testing to make sure all the extensions were supported, in essence it was trying to do shader based activity on cards which didn't support it.

Here is a screenshot of VMWare emulating RetroCopy. The OpenGL renderer is the default Microsoft supplied SOFTWARE one, so the performance is generally terrible and very ugly. But it works, and when you go fullscreen mode with the emulator instead of watching it on the TV it is very playable. I'm probably going to have an option for these systems so that the virtual room isn't even seen, instead it goes straight to fullscreen emulation.

It puts me in a dilemma though because certain features were going to use the virtual game room, but we will see. It also means Linux users can obviously use VMWare or whatever virtual machine the want to play RetroCopy. Who needs native ports? ;)

Some people were saying the billboard wasnt showing up for them too. Maybe their systems dont have opengl drivers or something too.

Yeah I believe that is why some people are having issues, either no openGL drivers or extremely poor video hardware.
