RetroCopy Set Top Box Style

Some more progress on RetroCopy's small redesign...this time with video playback.

As you can see DVD covers have been added to the types of boxes displayable. And I also had to bring the video section up to the standard of the other cores, which is why there is now a "System" you can click on to start videos. And also an input device which will allow you to control video playback.

Also as I reported on the forum, 64bit video playback and encoding on Windows platforms is now working. I've also updated to the latest FFMPEG sources which seem to be a bit better also.

DVDs. Not very Retro. How about VHS, Betamax and Laserdisc cover support?

You should look at Lav Splitter and Lav Audio on Doom9's forums - http://forum.doom9.org/showthread.php?t=156191

Why should I look at them? They don't offer anything for RetroCopy. :)

How do you know if you haven't looked at them ;)

Will be Retrocopy 0.970 in this week?

"Why? Its not like RC can play them."
RetroCopy can't really play anything. It emulates it.

I'm asking for cover support for VHS, Betamax, and Laserdisc, along with the DVD and Bluray.

RetroCopy can't play DVD or Bluray yet either, only movie files. Being able to play DVDs and Bluray discs is something that has been discussed though.

Do you know what covers are?

Ah. Covers. Yes, I think I have heard of them.

Hello RetroRalph . I want to know if you can make an option to rename the roms in Retrocopy . Retrocopy puts the names as they are in the database , I would like to rename some roms.

For example:

Phantasy star iv (spanish translation) , I want be able to rename it to Phantasy Star 4 Español.

Thanks

Laserdisc cover support would be epic. Laserdisc covers are so big and badass compared to any other movie cover other than movie posters.

It'd be awesome to be able to put custom "posters" in the game room.

I don't really like playing DVD/BLURAY disks myself as it's too inconvenient. Much prefer ripped movies to a hard drive, but I'm probably in the minority there.

DVD/BLURAY support wouldn't be too difficult to add seeing as RetroCopy already supports everything required for them, it's just a matter of motivation I guess. As to covers of VHS, etc, if you guys want to make the models (and have it working in RetroCopy by replacing one of the existing ones in a test) I'll add them. ;)

@pepodmc there is no real difference with what you name the files in the folder, so you can rename it if you want. However we need ASCII for all database names on the disk system for compatibility reasons.

Soon we will have the option to show "Native" names in RetroCopy properly which should give you what you want.

I will make that change it the database for the next version of RetroCopy - Spanish to Español, Italian to Italiano etc.

It would be cool if you could change a movie by finding its values and tweaking them... :)
