I still get some unrecognised carts in my SMS gamelist, I think I'd rather list them here, so they can be added in next versions:

- Excellent Dizzy Collection *

- Rastan Saga *

- Strider (UE)

* These are marked as [SMS-GG] in my set. I guess that means the GG and SMS versions are identical.

I know about this. There was a small error in it. It has already been fixed.

These games should be detected if you have the correct dumps of them.

It means the game was released on a Game Gear cartridge, but that it puts the Game Gear into "Master System compatibility mode".

RetroCopy currently doesn't "clean" SMS roms if they have a 512byte cart header. Other tools still list these ones as valid. If you grab SMSchecker from Maxims webpage you can clean any dirty ROMs and that will allow them to be detected.

Just tried SMS Checker, it did fix "Strider (UE)" and now it is recognised and playable.

The other two are still not recognised and are not playable. "Excelent Dizzy Collection" won't start, and "Rastan Saga" doesn't make it past the title screen. I guess they'll have to wait.

In regards to Rastan Saga, do you mean Rastan?

Seems to work ok here.

If you are talking about the Game Gear ROM then that is the reason it's not in the SMS database.

Mmm... pretty much. The cart is listed as "Rastan Saga [SMS-GG] (JP)" in my set, meaning it uses the SMS Compatibility Mode from the GG. Here are some pics taken with Kega:

I've tried renaming the file as .GG and running it as a GG cart under Retrocopy, but it doesn't go past the tiotle screen and shows distorted colors.

I had a quick look into this, Rastan Saga is a GG game that runs in SMS mode, which is why you currently get weird colors if you put it as .GG, there is no SMS mode yet. The reason it hangs is because in SMS mode the GameGear start button acts as the pause button, if you run it in RetroCopy's SMS emulator and press the pause button it should start.

We are getting started on the GG database soon so issues like this will be sorted out.

Confirmed, it works.
