Because I haven't hardcoded as many "fixes" for games so it's quite likely a few games crash on startup that should have SRAM set. It's just a theory anyhow, I'm not certain why it's crashing.

Maybe in SpritesMind Forum someone help fix these problems ;)

I don't think it's been mentioned, but "Super Street Fighter 2" is not supported yet. I think it has something to do with some hardware trick it does, it wasn't emulated until very late in other emus.

Bank switching needed for run this game, because she have size 5MB, many emulators by default only read ROMs with size max 4MB

Ultimate Mortal Kombat 3 (Hack) uses 10MB ROM! and nobody can't run this game, only Gens32 Surrial can do this ;)

Added:

Ralph can you add in Config.xml PSG noise adjust for Mega Drive, i need this feature for make setups for Genesis and Mega Drive 2, when i make correct setups for both versions, can you add presets with this small option:

Many people need Genesis, people from Russia need Mega Drive 2, and if in Retrocopy will be implemented both versions we will very happy ;)

hey Retro Ralph, would it be possible for you to support the Mega Drive file format .md

it is used by the no-into group which is how I verify my roms. it would be handy if you supported the .md format because they are a pretty big group.

also, do you plan on eventually writing your own genesis core? or just continuing to modify the MAME one, just curious. The reason I ask is I figure you could be more confident about the accuracy and the efficiency if you did it yourself, and it would also create more options and diversity for the community.

I'm still waiting for Nemesis to come out with his "Exodus" emulator. :D

to be fair this game also doesn't work on real harware IIRC, so it shouldn't work in an _accurate_ emulator.

also Sasha, I was wondering, could you post some pictures of your Mega Drive 2 that you talk about so much. Do you still have the box it came in?

Is it just like a Regular Japanese, European, Hong Kong, UK, or Australian Mega Drive 2? what makes it special that you keep talking about it?

Yes I'll add it for next version.

My own genesis core? It is my own genesis core, the only thing which isn't done by myself is the 68K CPU. Everything else (Z80, FM, PSG, VDP) is attempting to be cycle accurate, which to my knowledge is the only emulator that does this currently in a public release.

Ok I'll add a config option for this. I'll look at adding these kind of things to the GUI later when I have some inspiration on how to handle these emulator related tweaks in a visual manner.

Sasha -> Perhaps would it be interesting to make a public htlm page with a tab listing all a games you've tested for each version with status of emulation?

All these versions don't affect to main emulation, they have only difference in volumes PSG ;)

And? all these games run perfectly on Kega Fusion 3.64 and Regen 0.972, my main task find all noticeable bugs, i have all official popular games, and enough modern PC for run Retrocopy ;)

Here is my console:

Sorry can't find japanese print board, because rare thing.

She have unique sound, this is improved prototype of Genesis Model 1.01 with powerful music, she have logotype of "Sega Original" you can't buy this, because she was available in my shops only in 1994 year ;)

Her characteristics in Power DC adapter: 10V 850mA or 8.5watt - this is original power supply, Sound: Mono\Stereo, Mega CD support, you can use PAL standard only, so i decided add PSG volumes from this Mega Drive 2, because she best in Mega Drive 2 series ;)

Sound capacitors inside: 16V 220uF

Yes , that's why it would be interesting to have a html page relating bugs you've noticed for each retrocopy version, a sort of compatibility list.

ah thank you for the speedy reply.

and I see, my mistake, for some reason I was under the impression that only the Z80 was yours, I don't get to visit the forums a lot so I must have read one of your old blog posts out of context.

but that's good to hear! any plans on working on that 68K processor? it could be used in a lot of other systems.

Any plans for emulating computer systems? like the X68000, FM Towns (or the Marty which is a console) Amiga, Atari ST, etc. etc.

I figure things like SG-1000, SG-1000 II, SC-3000, Super Famicom, and early sega arcade boards would be a higher priority, but just a thought.

Hmm interestingly I was looking at some of the NO-INTRO romsets and noticed that not all .MD files are "Multi Game Doctor" files. Seems they chose the .MD extension and decided to mix up plain binary dumps with the other format. Maybe there are even a few .SMD files in there now renamed to .MD?

I'm not sure who is in control of doing that but it seems like a clusterf*ck. This is what happens when you let ROM dumpers that represent 0.1% of the community try and do their own thing. Why they couldn't be bothered to convert them all to proper .MD files who knows.

Anyhow I will add a heuristic that hopefully will detect real .MD files, the other ones (which are the majority it seems) will already work in RetroCopy v0.720 . As for you, the user that uses no-intro.... well it's not supposed to be easy for you, go check their forums you "rom leach" and you will see what they think of you! ;)

Also if anyone here has a real .MD ROM email me, I couldn't find one and I'd like to have a real world test with one. Seems like a dying format.
