i am so curious how you make YOSHI'S ISLAND and DONKEY KONG COUNRTY to work on this smooth emu.. With the special FX card they use..

none of the Donkey Kong Country games used the FX chip, or any special chips for that matter.

but games like Star Fox, and Stunt Race FX (Wild Trax in Japan) used the FX chip. Super Mario RPG, Kirby Super Star, and Kirby's Dreamland 3 used other special chips to list a few.

The thing is the Super Nintendo is a massive undertaking, it would make more sense to get Retrocopy off the ground in features and knock out a few easier consoles before taking on such a beast that is going to take a long time with little returns to finish.

furthermore, I'd LOVE to see what ralph has planned for the Super Nintendo, but there is already a pretty accurate SNES emulator out there with BSNES, wouldn't it make sense to cover systems that aren't emulated very accurately first?

Plus I'm just a Sega fanboy :D

If you guys read the first post in that thread it sets limitations on the system. Any posts breaking that I have to remove to keep it clean.

Never actually searched for Donkey Kong because of the nice graphics.. :D

Picked this from wikipedia:

A new compression technique they developed in house allowed them to incorporate more detail and animation for each sprite for a given memory footprint than previously achieved on the SNES, which better captured the pre-rendered graphics. Both Nintendo and Rare refer to the technique for the creating the game's graphics as "ACM" (Advanced Computer Modelling).

Yoshi's island

The game uses the Super FX 2 microchip to create sprite scaling, polygon effects, and pre-32-bit computer effects called "Morphmation" (in American commercials) that are relatively advanced for a SNES game (a preliminary version of the boxart featured the Super FX 2 logo). The game also used the SNES' capability of parallax scrolling.

Thanks for making that clear..

I think we out here have nothing to do with bsnes.. ;)

@ Retroralph:

You already pointed Snes out under "DOWNLOAD" is this not to early?
The next system will be 8bit but after that do we get another vote for 16bit?..

I claim this to be the 16-bit version of this poll.
