after updating to 0.720 from 0.666b i can no longer see any of my sms games in the list, the only two it shows are the ones that come with retrocopy.

It there a step i missed (might be no long awake and no coffee) or is this an issue with retrocopy, i use the 64bit version, should i try it with the 32 bit version and see if it happens?

Have recopied all the .gen and .nes files over again and they were converted ok although it says none good none bad and auto all of them, are there some tools i can use to check the files to make sure they are ok before i convert them?

You can't use the .GAME files generated from 0.666 in the newer versions. v0.700 and onwards .GAME files will be supported though. So basically you will need to convert .NES / .BIN .SMS files by placing them in the appropriate directory and getting rid of the old .GAME files if they exist.

lucky i kept some of the files in original state then, and your lucky it would take me 26 hours to get to Australia or i would have had to kick your arse if i didn't have the original files :-)

Could you tell me if there are any good tools to check and poss fix any roms, as some are saying unknown when being converted, may just be name or a bad header, im not as up to date with emulation tools as i once was :-)

Use SMSChecker to verify most of the SMS ROMs. I also believe it has a header cleaning method to remove the 512byte header from some ROMs. I believe the new .DAT for SMS covers pretty much everything on SMS worth covering, even the 3in1 , 4in1 type games. Some homebrew is excluded due to not being notable enough).

The other systems are not so important to check for at this stage as they will all be "auto" as they have no .DATs, but the GoodTools, and some No-Intro sets are ok to use for them.
