Hello RetroRalph, i'm really sorry for open another post for errors of Megadrive, but this is a different error:

I found a bug in Retrocopy in the game X-men:
At one stage, you have to reset the Sega Genesis in order to move to another stage but I try to do the same in retrocopy and does not work.

This is a video of the game played on a real Sega Genesis :

And this is a video of the game played on Retrocopy (the same stage):

From 0:54 to 1:12. I press reset on the sega genesis and that happens, and then you can play the next Stage.
But this does not work in Retrocopy, therefore, the Reset feature in Retrocopy must be equal to reset feature of a real Sega Genesis to be able to play the next stage of Xmen in Retrocopy.

Hello Ralf,

I would be interested to know if retrocopy emulates or will emulate the vdp slot access to vram like the real genesis :
http://gendev.spritesmind.net/forum/viewtopic.php?t=851

I know that the emulation isn't accurate now because of the bug in mickey mania but to emulate it properly you have to change the way the vdp is emulated or it's just a adjustement?

Thanks.

Don't worry Pepodmc we can handle it easily.

I have Phenom II x4 at 3600Mhz, accuracy most important part for me. ;)

I have good idea about Accuracy!

Here two profiles:

Cycle Accurate - Requires overclocked CPU's.
Performance - Requires CPU's with 2 cores.

It must be not so hard, if BSNES 0.77 x64 (Profile: Cycle Accurate) run fine for me (all games with good speed 67~102fps)...

But really , Bsnes has a bad optimization and some sync audio problems (in my PC BSNES runs well , but it has high requirements for be a SNES emulator).
I mean, accuracy is a good thing, but optimization TOO !! ;)

RetroCopy does emulate memory accurately. However there is a caveat, with the sprite engine I didn't know the timings or have time to find them so they are inaccurate. The design of the Megadrive VDP in RetroCopy is such that it can be used accurately when the timing information was available which it is now. So it's just a matter of plugging it in.

To answer the original post. The RESET you can currently do isn't the same as the reset button on the console, it's more like a power on-power off. That reset button will need to be added at some stage.

I'm not surprised by this requirements because Nemesis the author try to do a emulator at cycle level.
