I'm writing a Gentoo ebuild for RetroCopy, But I need some information that I didn't find on the website or in teh downloaded Linux archive. What license is Retrocopy released under? Also, what dependencies, if any, must it have installed on the system to run?

I don't think you will be able to build an ebuild until Ralph releases the sources

This ebuild is simply to automate the installation and uninstallation of the Retrocopy binary distribution through Gentoo's Portage system. Though Gentoo is a source-based distro, binary packages can be used too. If I write an ebuild and have it added to the Portage tree or to a public overlay, it would be the Gentoo equivalent of having it added to one of Ubuntu's repositories where it could easily be installed through aptitude or synaptic.

yes you could do that, but i would think it would be better to put in to one of the game overlays first so people can test it out :) is roslin still the main game overly? been a while since i used an overly, I tend to grab the ebuild and use a local overly in my home dir :)

Yes. It will likely go into an overlay first. If interested, you can see the work in progress at http://forums.funtoo.org/viewtopic.php?id=727
