General Performance Tips

#1 Ensure you have the latest video and audio drivers installed.

#2 If you are a NVIDIA user go into your control panel (right click your desktop) and disable THREADED OPTIMIZATION. If you don't a whole CPU core will be wasted processing video frames when only a single core is needed for this. It is a known problem in NVIDIA's drivers.

#3 Close down background applications. AntiVirus and other security applications in particular can slow down RetroCopy significantly.

#4 Make sure you haven't accidentally enabled any filters in RetroCopy. When running a game or movie press escape and see if you have any filters activated. Filters steal CPU and GPU power in order to improve image quality.

#5 Upgrade your CPU. RetroCopy is designed to take advantage of every single CPU core you can give it. Dual core CPUs are a MINIMUM for RetroCopy if you want glitch free quality.
