This is a game I didn't grow up with, which means I have no good story to share. I think I had a version of it on my Commodore 64 though, but I probably didn't play it much since I can't remember playing it very much. Since I've just played this SMS-version of it in RetroCopy, I can write a review of it though...
It's not a bad game, and considering that the original arcade version of it was made in 1984, it's actually quite impressive. Although, for a game released in 1990 it's not as impressive. But it's certainly not a stinker... It's a little repetitive though. It's the same thing you do over and over again (delivering newspapers), and it's quite obvious that this was originally an arcade game. The whole point is to get as many points as possible and get on the high score list, while in the typical console game, it's more important to finish/beat the game, than to collect points. So it would be good if there had been a little more variation in the game. Perhaps Paperboy could have gotten off his bike once in a while and taken his route by foot... Certainly would have made it a lot easier :) Anyway, not a bad game, but certainly not a SMS classic.

Get ready for the ride of your life as the new PAPERBOY for the neighborhood. What a neighborhood! Watch out for runaway lawnmowers, a boom box or two, a guy on a unicycle and, of course, breakdancers. Every day you make the rounds, delivering papers to your subscribers. Throw the paper at the wrong time, and you might break a window. Throw it at just the right time, it lands in the mailbox and you get extra points. At the end of the day you gain or lose subscribers, depending on your performance. Crash too often and you will be forced into an early retirement. The more experience you get, the tougher the obstacles. Watch out for that construction worker! Pedal faster to get away from that dog! Look out for that car! Oh well... just another day in the neighborhood.

Onto your bike and into the streets. Only super riding skills and a steady throwing arm can get you through a week of hilarious action. Avoid cars, workmen, drunkards and lawnmowers all out to stop you, and make the people you don't deliver to pay for their mistake.
