Continue game play
Sweep the D-pad in a clockwise Full-Circle while the countdown timer is running at the continue screen. Up to twelve continues may be added. Alternatively, enter the sound test option and play sound effect 62 three times. Begin game play and sweep the D-pad in a clockwise Full-Circle at the continue screen. Up to 99 continues may be added.
Sound test
Sweep the D-pad in a counter clockwise Full-Circle at the continue screen in order to see a sound test screen after the counter is finished counting.
Advanced sound test
Hold BUTTON2+RIGHT at the sound test screen in order to play up to 95 sound effects from the game. Release the buttons at the number you want to hear. You must do the same trick again in order to hear numbers above 17.
Unlimited continues
Select sound 00 in the sound test mode. Press BUTTON2+LEFT on controller one. The selected sound will change to 95. Press BUTTON1 and select each sound until sound 00 is selected again. After sound 00 is selected, hold BUTTON1 to resume the continue countdown. Sweep the D-pad in a clockwise in a Full-Circle to gain an unlimited number of credits.
Invincibility
Hold DOWN+RIGHT on controller one and UP+LEFT+BUTTON1 on controller two and turn on the Sega Master System. Release the buttons at the title screen.
Secret Level
In level 4, there are two openings at the top of the screen (in the area where the whole screen is filled with green cells). Make sure you don't have the satellite on the back of your ship, then fly up into the first opening, and back your ship into the left wall. This will take you to the secret "Super Stage".

The Earth Defense League has chosen you to pilot R-9, a nuclear-powered space fighter that can cut through invading aliens faster than a light saber through butter. Fly R-9 through eight exciting levels of high-powered action. Use your plasma gun to rip through armies of nasty creatures and their deadly machines. And when the going gets really tough, pick up Droid Units to make your ship even harder hitting. You'll be up against creatures so mean and ugly they'll make your hair stand on end. But Earth is depending on you. So strap yourself in the cockpit, put your fingers on the triggers, and blast 'em out of the skies!
