Level select
Press UP,UP,DOWN,DOWN,RIGHT,LEFT,RIGHT,LEFT and press BUTTON1 or BUTTON2 at the title screen in order to select starting level.
Sound test
Press DOWN,DOWN,UP,UP,LEFT,RIGHT,LEFT,RIGHT and press BUTTON1 or BUTTON2 at the title screen to see a sound test screen.
Hadouken
During the Sound Test screen, press DOWN, DOWN+RIGHT, RIGHT+BUTTON1(or2) to make Sonic shoot a Hadouken (Known from Street Fighter).
Goal Sign Tricks 1: Turquoise Hill Zone, Sleeping Egg Zone and Aqua Planet Zone
Super Ring - Finish the round with any number of rings ending in 9 (9, 19, 29, etc.)
Continue - Finish the round with 15, 30, 40, or 60 rings.
Backwards Sign - Finish the round with 16, 28, 32, 44, or 58 rings.
1-UP - Finish the round with 55, 65, 77, 88, 95, 97, or 99 rings.
Goal Sign Tricks 2: Gigalopolis Zone, Mecha Green Hill Zone and Electric Egg Zone
Super Ring - Finish the round with a multiple of 10 rings (10, 20, 30, etc.)
Continue - Finish the round with 00, 24, 48, or 72 rings.
Backwards Sign - Finish the round with 18, 36, 45, 81, or 89 rings.
1-UP - Finish the round with 11, 33, 77, 87, 94, 96, or 98 rings.

Dr. Robotnik's stolen the red Chaos Emerald, and it's up to Sonic The Hedgehog to get it back! As Sonic or "Tails" the two-tailed fox, you'll zip through the Zones, using your quick moves and quicker thinking to collect rings and evade Robotnik's latest batch of badniks!

Tudo ia bem na ilha do Sul desde que as seis Esmeraldas do Caos foram reavidas. De vez em quando esta tranqüilidade era quebrada pelas corridas matinais de Sonic e Tails, mas tudo era felicidade. Porém, num daqueles dias, a ilha foi sacudida por terríveis explosões que abriram grandes crateras no solo. Preocupados, os animais começaram a buscar a razão para tudo aquilo. Flicky, o passarinho azul, solucionou o mistério: as Esmeraldas do Caos estavam desaparecendo da Caverna do Norte! Tails rapidamente calculou: Adeus esmeraldas = Tchau-Tchau harmonia = Boas vindas ao caos em todo mundo! Para piorar, uma máquina voadora sobrevoou os céus da Ilha do Sul trazendo um sujeitinho de enorme bigode e nariz vermelho. Tudo se esclareceu: Dr. Robotnik era a causa de tudo!
